Welcome to the All About the Abs series. You will work every part of your core with innovative compound movements that engage maximum muscles at the same time. You will see standing abs, kneeling, side lying and mat abs, all with angle changes and unique combinations to help tighten your mid-section and give you a healthy, strong core. The 4 Workouts are: Chair (21 mins) you will start with long lever sweeping motions to heat up the entire body, then use the chair for balance to perform a variety of standing oblique exercises before using the seat of the chair to work through angled knee pulls. You will see lots of rotational movements to engage the entire core and will finish with some dynamic stretches to lengthen everything back out. Mat (28 mins) you will start in a side kneeling position with various leg and arm movements to particularly work the obliques. Next you will move into an all fours position with changes in arm position and leg angles to work your entire core. Then lie down on your back for some lengthening inner thigh and lower ab combinations and finally a tough teaser set to really burn out your entire midsection! There's a nice stretch at the end to lengthen everything back out. Fusion Flow (40 mins) you will start with a fast paced oblique series with level changes to heat up the entire body. You will then move into an intense chair series, again with level changes and a bit of a balance challenge element. Next move to the mat for some flowing, yet challenging sweeps and crunches. Finally use the chair as a guide with a wide variety of leg raises and bicycles. Finish with a stretch. Angle Burn (45 mins) you will start with some dynamic movements to heat up the entire body. Next use the chair for an intense leg sweep to extension move, that gets your whole body involved. Then another chair combination with an angled knee lift and elegant crunch to leg raises with heel lifts. Then hit the mat for laying combinations with straight and attitude raises and a side to side burn out as the finale. Finish with a stretch.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time. These workouts will hit all those trouble spots and best of all you don't even need to wear shoes to do them! Get ready to sweat, puff and burn - hopefully you'll love every minute of it!
