"Core Connection" showcases Mindy at her best, presenting innovative and short - yet intense - workouts which use a range of toys.  The DVD has four segments which you can use as stand-alone workouts or add-ons: Balance ball (20 mins); Bender ball (or Pilates mini-ball) (30 mins); Gliding disks (25 mins);  a 14-minute "Combos" segment which uses the Bender ball, gliding disks and a ropeless jump rope - but you can do it without the jump rope.  These workouts are challenging - the first time I did the Bender ball segment, I was actually whimpering a little!  But after doing the segment once a week for six weeks, I had significantly improved my core strength.  Mindy really knows what she's doing.  In each segment, she warms up your core thoroughly, then takes your body through different planes of motion, cueing expertly as she does so.  In case you're not feeling the burn, she provides options to increase the intensity.
