Great for a beginner wanting to learn swing |

As an avid swing-dancer who's been doing & teaching Charleston & Lindy-Hop for years, this "workout" isn't anywhere close to the kind of exercise you get while social dancing, and the style is more prancy ballroom swing than the type of 20's-50's social swing that I dance. That said, if you've never done swing, these moves are easy to learn and similar enough to actual swing dancing that it could be a good start for a beginner wanting to learn the dance. The DVD gives you a music only option and you can program your workout to mix and match any of the 4 sections (including cool-down) in any order you like. And, if you discover that you're having fun, use this as a springboard to taking a local dance class or joining a swing dance club and REALLY dance off the pounds. And, if you happen to be in Saskatoon on a Tuesday night from May through September, come down to River Landing for a free authentic swing lesson at 7pm & dancing to follow :-)
