3 of 5 Tough workout with awkward movements July 30, 2014

Any horizontal conditioning workout will give you an amazingly effective and tough core workout. Sandra really knows how to dig deep into the core and build strength. That said, this is a total body workout as it has plenty of push ups and some standing leg work added in as well.

My only complaint about this workout, is a significant one for me. Sandra uses a body bar, a step and mat in this workout, and finds some very creative ways to put you in a position where you're multitasking a move while using your core. The problem for me is that these positions are very awkward for me and frequently feel unstable...like using a body bar on a step where it can roll and change your position. These positions put a lot of strain on your wrists and shoulders while working your core, and just seem kind of iffy.  In other words, it seems slightly more dangerous than it needs to be.  

If you have sensitive wrists of shoulder issues, I would not recommend this workout.

I am giving this 5 stars due to the fact the moves work.  I get great ab definition when I follow Sandra's workouts.  

The production value and music get some slack, and while other videos may be of higher quality...THESE MOVES WORK!  The first few times you will have to glance up at the TV if your head is pointed away, but you will quickly learn the moves.  

Modifiable (drop to elbows, lighter weight, do basic crunches if needed, etc.) and not complex to do.  

When I complete Sandra's workouts, I feel very accomplished.

I would recommend WAGS gloves to prevent wrist strain.

I'm apple shaped and always come back to these workouts for results.  Believe it or not I actually find these challenging and fun!  I feel so strong and powerful when I'm done :)  Don't worry if you can't do all of the reps, just do what you can and track your progress you will get better.
