Welcome to the MEDIUM INTENSITY series. These workouts have a large variety of cardio and toning exercises that will build strength and stamina without leaving you fatigued. They are a perfect introduction into my more challenging workouts, introducing you to various pieces of equipment that will work your muscles from all angles. THE SET INCLUDES: Core Focus (45 min): uses a small ball and light weights to burn fat and sculpt your muscles. The first part of the workout is standing with lots of cardio sculpting exercises some using the ball and others the weights. You will then hit the mat for some tough abs exercises using the ball. Pilates Ring (45 min): a fun cardio sculpt workout with mostly standing exercises and some mat to finish. You will start with a lighter cardio sculpt warm up, then use the ring for more dedicated lower body sculpting, add light hand weights for deeper leg work with upper body engagement and then another cardio burst before hitting the mat. On the mat you will do some outer thighs and obliques with the power of the ring, then a seated, c-curve abs segment with arm work. Slider & Band (37 min): a light cardio and toning workout that uses 40 second intervals with 10 seconds of rest. You will start with standing slider cardio sculpt to heat up the body, then add the loop for standing barre exercises. Next move to the mat for more loop thighs and core with some upper body engagement in modified plank position. Finally, some laying abs exercises before a nice stretch.. Weighted Cardio Sculpt (45 min): uses medium dumbbells to increase the intensity of standing and mat exercises. The timer is set to 45 seconds of work with 15 mins of rest and you will alternate between sections of more cardio focused exercises and then pure toning. The addition of the weight to the mat portion of the workout really increases the challenge as you work your way through side laying thigh work with core engagement, glute bridge and dedicated abs exercises. Weights & Band (45 min): a cardio sculpt workout using light and heavier dumbbells plus a resistance loop band. The first part of the workout is 45 second intervals with no break. It is all standing and starts with some cardio intervals to increase the heart rate. Then move to heavier weights with more traditional exercises, and some light weights work to fully fatigue the upper body. Next, hit the mat for a TOUGH pyramid segment for chest, upper back and triceps with lower body engagement. Then drop the weights and finish with thighs, butt and abs using the band.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time. These workouts will hit all those trouble spots and best of all you don't even need to wear shoes to do them! Get ready to sweat, puff and burn - hopefully you'll love every minute of it!
