Personally I love Michelle Dozois Peakfit dvds. This one is just as good as the rest. Yes it does require you to learn the moves and I would suggest doing it with no weights block by block at first to get used to it. But the music is very motivating and I just keep coming back to them. Personally I use them as cardio workouts using 5s and 8lbs as I wouldn't like to go heavier, but they are so much fun.

Let me preface my review by saying that my fitness level is advanced (workout/run 5-6 days a week for at least 1 hr).  This DVD is so fast-paced that learning the moves are frustrating.  By the time you get the hang of one move, she has moved to another fast-paced move.  The only way to describe this workout is "out of control" even for an advanced exerciser.  I have tried to use it a few times but can't complete the DVD because my frustration level takes over.  This is the first Dozois DVD I have tried, so if this is her manner of operation, I will not purchase another one.  I will stick with Jari Love and Kelly Coffey-Meyer.  Their DVDs are intense and effective but not out of control.

If you're familiar with Peak 10 then you know what to expect....heavy breathing, sweat dripping and calories burning.  If not......Michelle takes you through a basecamp, ascent, climb and peak.  In this wkout she uses light and med weights.  The moves are simple athletic types so you can put as much or as little into that you want.  The Peaks only last about 10 seconds and include moves like tuck jumps, jumping front kicks etc.  This gets your heart rate up nicely then immediately you move into the basecamp doing compound moves w/ weights.  This had a hint of a kickbox feel to it and I loved it.  Michelle and her team are great, the moves are fast but fluid and the whole wkout including stretch came in at 55 minutes.  Excellent workout.  Highly recommend.

This is the fifth of the Peak 10 Cardio/Strength workouts, and I found it to be every bit as awesome as the first four, I love it!!! There were plenty of familiar moves mixed in with some new and unique moves; I always appreciate the familiar moves because they make the workout easier for me to learn ( not necessarily easy to do, LOL); Michelle cues beautifully so that I was able to get the new and tricky moves on the first try. Even though there are some familiar moves they are in new sequences so I did not find them boring, instead they felt fresh and new to me. Michelle just uses two sets of weights, one light and one heavy. I prefer to lay out a variety of sizes because I often find I need to increase or decrease my poundage. I use 8's and 10's for my light weights and 12's and 15's for my heavy weights. I also use a set of 5's to hold during some of the peaks for added intensity. These Peak 10 Cardio/strength workouts are my favorites, I get incredible results from them!!!
