Welcome to the Pilates Beginners Series. These workouts are easy to follow with lots of form pointers so that you can familiarize yourself with Pilates without having to get too technical. The exercises are designed to lengthen and define your body in a joint friendly, low impact way that is suitable for all ages and exercise levels.
THE WORKOUTS ARE:
Mat Express (31 mins): You will start with a dynamic plank series that incorporates push ups and knee drops, then you will move to a side lying series for outer thighs and glutes, a longer abdominals series and finally a back strengthening series.
Total Mat (34 mins): You will start with a push up series as well as some elbow plank and oblique combinations, then move on to an outer thigh series, a triceps dip series, a lying inner thigh series and some glute bridge work to finish.
Lower and Abs (31 mins): You will start with some side leaning leg kicks and a side lying oblique and outer thigh series, then move on to a leg extension and glute bridge series, and finish with a longer abdominal series which includes upper and lower abs as well as obliques.
Core and Glutes (38 mins): You will start with a plank series that gets the whole body warmed up, move to a long lever lower abs series, then a c-curve upper abs series, a table top glute series, a back extensions series and finish with a lying glute series.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time. These workouts will hit all those trouble spots and best of all you don't even need to wear shoes to do them! Get ready to sweat, puff and burn - hopefully you'll love every minute of it!
