4 of 5 Pretty good Yoga dvd July 24, 2014

I do love the location and the music. It has a calm and zen feel to it. Something about the instructor I did not enjoy and I don't know what but not my favourite dvd.

4 of 5 Between 3 & 4 Stars for Me July 8, 2014
Reviewer: T from Tarpon Springs, FL United States
This is a flowing workout with some repetition. A good deal of flexibility is required because you don't have time to figure out ways to modify. Each move flows into the next. There aren't any endless sun salutations here. James leads you through the routine on one side, then you do it all over again on the other side. There were times where I was facing away from the TV and couldn't figure out which leg I was supposed to be on, so the cueing isn't always spot on. For the most part the spiritual language is limited for those who are sensitive to this. He does mention "gods". I haven't done the meditations but those are on a separate chapter. I like this workout for when I don't want an intense power yoga session but I do want to feel worked. This practice has an elegant feel to it.

4 of 5 I liked it August 16, 2011

I still consider myself to be a beginner when it comes to yoga.  There were a few moves in here that I was not able to do, but I was able to easily modify.  I did the 45 min. workout.  I really did enjoy this workout.  I did not do the meditations, but I did watch them and they seemed to be very relaxing,  I will be doing both of them in the future.

4 of 5 Sincere effort November 28, 2009
Reviewer: Vrinda from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I would not rate this an essential for a yoga collection. It rates as a nice-to-have. The pose transitions are creative without straying so far that it no longer feels like purist yoga. The routine is not the typical vinyasa dvd format of sun salutations followed by usual poses. The production values are good.  Trudie's form is like that of a committed yoga student (she does not claim to be an expert), and D'Silva who leads has excellent form and is graceful.

D'Silva's cueing on alignment is good, but he does not cue consistently. The workout does not demand an advanced level of flexibility (it can be modified easily enough even if you arent limber) nor is it demanding on endurance.

I was looking forward to Sting's music on the soundtrack.  The music to me was  unobtrusive rather than striking. If it has "message in a bottle" like the cover claims, I did not notice. I didnt do the meditations. The practice focuses on yoga as exercise with minimal spiritual talk.

4 of 5 Wonderful Yoga practice October 21, 2009
Reviewer: Kate Tucker from Spicer, MN United States
This is a very good, very different flowing type Yoga. All kinds of different poses in a unique flow working all one side then the other. Actually quite gentle with some nice leg stretches like wide legged standing forward bend and standing one-legged splits, brief pigeon, a few twists. Half Sun Sals with a moving Childs pose into Cobra. Mr. D'Silva doesn't really use many proper names for the poses, but rather tells you how to get into them. This is a good, decent Intermediate practice. There are also 2 meditations. Trudie's Meditation is about 5-6 minutes with focus on breath. Haven't done the other one or the 25 min practice which is supposedly parts of the longer practice. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful calming music from Sting. Happily pleased as many celebrity workouts leave much to be desired.
