2X2 Conditioning Volume 2 incorporates the principles of high intensity interval training resulting in an amazingly efficient training session!

Challenge yourself to alternating two minute bouts of easy to follow cardio drills and functional resistance training drills. Aimee Nicotera has been involved in the health and fitness industry for 20 years, as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer and health educator. Aimee holds a BS degree in Nutrition Science and a MS degree in Health Education, as well as multiple fitness certifications including those through ACE, AFAA. and ACSM. Aimee enjoys encouraging people of all ages to choose well, move well and be well!

5 of 5 Good metabolic type workout June 17, 2015

I have tried most of Aimee's workouts and this one is my favorite.  She has improved her delivery and the quality of the workouts since she burst onto the workout DVD scene a couple of years ago.  To me, this workout hits everything that I am looking for in a metabolic type workout, workouts that combine cardio and weights and that leave me a sweaty mess.  And, Aimee really does seem like she understands the home exerciser.  I find her highly motivating.

I just got this and it is great. The premise is 2 min of cardio then 2 min of strength. You do about 8 blocks of the 4 minutes and then she offers 4 bonus blocks as well. The cardio is all basic athletic moves using the step. There are 3 levels for each move, and then you can also vary step height. The strength moves are muscle endurance based since you are going 2 minutes continuosly. The moves are a mix of compound moves and isolation moves. My only gripe is there is no play all feature to do the main workout and the bonus blocks so you have to go back to the main menu to individually play each bonus block. Other than that I love this for a good circuit workout. Aimee is a very good instructor too, good form pointers, not annoying, motivating.

What's not to love about Aimee's workouts?!  She is upbeat and supportive all while delivering tough but very doable workouts.  Her dvd's are rated as intermediate but could be used by a beginner as well as an advanced exerciser by heavying up on the weights and going all out in the cardio segments.  In this workout, I used 5lb dumbbells all the way up to 12's.  I also complete every workout with her Recharge segment that is on one of her Take 20 dvd's, leaves me feeling fantastic!

After having tried all four workouts, this was my absolute favourite. The workout lasts roughly 40 minutes, but you have the option to add 4 bonus blocks and you get 60 minutes of workout. The workout is designed in alternating 2 minutes of strength and 2 minutes of cardio, all done with the step. There is not a lot of choreography just simple intense moves. I mostly worked at level 2 for strength and 3 for cardio, but I believe a true beginner could also take advantage of this workout.
