5 of 5 Excellent workout January 3, 2016
Reviewer: Irmeli Kuehnel from Annapolis, MD United States
I actually bought this workout by mistake, but when it arrived I tried it out and loved it. It has all of the great features of Ellen's workout but still has its own special parts.  Great work, Ellen.

5 of 5 My favorite Ellen DVD April 15, 2015

A 45-minute cardio workout, no shoes or equipment required?  Sign me up!

This is one of the best low-impact cardio DVDs.  Ellen has a great personality, and I like her signature moves.

The workout slowly builds in speed/intensity, but never gets so high that you'll lose your breath.  The best part about this workout is that you feel invigorated, not exhausted, when it's over.

4 of 5 Really good workout with modifications February 12, 2015
Reviewer: Laura S. from Rockville, MD
I had this workout shortly after it came out and Ellen is in a bright open studio, backed up by two exercisers, one of whom is the modifier. This workout is comprised of several long combinations during which you do moves on one side and then the other with additional moves thrown in. You are supposed to do it barefoot - sometimes I do, sometimes I wear shoes.

I really like the combinations and I find that I really enjoy the moves that she does. My heartrate gets up there some, but it is not an intense workout. The two things that I don't enjoy about the workout are the happy feet/ponies (there are a LOT of them) and how much you hold your arms outstretched (most of the workout). So, I have learned to modify. I just do side steps while they do happy feet/ponies - this is kinder to my knees. And, I put my arms down during moves I don't feel like I need them. I either have my arms by my sides or my hands on my hips.

5 of 5 Wonderful!!! July 24, 2014
Reviewer: Rosie from Stephens City, VA United States
This is my second Ellen cardio workout with bare feet and I love it. Makes me feel so relaxed when done but I really sweat doing this. I really feel it the next day. I am almost tempted to only do these for cardio! I never thought I would like working out barefooted but it is so elegant!

5 of 5 Fun, Low Impact Cardio July 7, 2014
Reviewer: Ruth Rousseau from Ottersberg, Niedersachsen Germany
I like working out barefoot. It just feels so much better than lacing up sneakers at 6 am. Besides, it's a lot more quiet.
Barefoot Cardio is my favorite Ellen cardio workout because it's higher energy, moves faster, and yes, I like the ponies!
Because of it's length (45 minutes) I don't do it as often lately so when I do it, I'm always pleasantly surprised by how sweaty I am and how my heartate is kept up throughout.
Ellen is friendly and cues well.
This workout is good for beginners or intermediate exercisers.

5 of 5 Fun Workout May 22, 2014
Reviewer: susan smoaks from quincy, FL United States
Barefoot Cardio is a feel good fat burning workout and I love that it doesn't require shoes.  I have become accustomed to doing my morning workouts barefoot anyway.  I do not like putting on socks and shoes at 4 in the morning.

The workout starts with a 6 minute warm-up.  Then you go into the step kick & balance series.  Next you do the happy feet/pony.  Giant step scissor series is next and then side tap foot out/in (which I love), next you do the reach/twist with wide stance on opposite leg.  Then the wrap twist.  Star arms series is next and then the heart lift and horse shoe series, and last but not least the cool down.  You will feel energized and ready to face the day when you have completed barefoot cardio.

This is a fun workout that is sure to get your heart rate up and your blood pumping.  I really enjoy it each time I decide to put it in the DVD player.

5 of 5 Energizing cardio that leaves you feeling good January 7, 2010
Reviewer: Kelly from Nova Scotia , Canada
I just walk/jog for cardio but I recently bought Barefoot cardio and tried it tonight- because I was too lazy to go upstairs and get my sneakers!
The workout got my heart rate up. Its easy to use full range of motion and get a good aerobic workout. The moves felt effective, the cardio was easy to follow, I felt my upperbody work in the shoulders and triceps. Ellen is a friendly instructor, she cues well, she appears genuine and seems to enjoy what she is doing. I like that modifications are also shown. This workout left me feeling energized, not wiped out.
In the past, I have really only used advanced strength dvds and walking for fitness, I will add this to my cardio now. During some parts, I felt my muscles worked just as much in this type of movement as they do with the heavy lifting workouts. I will be buying more of Ellen's dvds

5 of 5 Love it! November 17, 2009
Reviewer: Peggy from Ladysmith, BC Canada
I was not sure I would want to do a workout without shoes as I have so many problems with my feet and wear orthotics.
However, doing this DVD without shoes has not caused any problems at all.  Amazing.
This DVD is fun, has cardio and toning and the time flies by.  It is my first DVD of Ellen Barrett and I liked it so much, that I just ordered 4 more different workouts of Ellen's.
Barefoot Cardio has taught me to be more graceful while giving me a good workout.  I am quite clumsy and have a hard time following most DVD's that have you flinging your arms and legs around in different directions but I don't have that problem with this one.
Yes, there are plenty of varied steps that incorporate arm movements but it is at a pace that I can keep up to and transition easily.
I look forward to doing this workout and feel great after doing it.  Ellen's instruction method is clear and her cuing is very good making it easy to follow.

4 of 5 Very nice workout October 29, 2009
Reviewer: Dutch Vidiot
About the instructor: Ellen is friendly and motivating, without being overly perky. She has a positive attitude.
About the workout: the workout promises to be a more intense follow up to Fat Burning Fusion, and it does indeed take it up a few notches.
Pros: low impact; combines cardio with stretching and toning; leaves you feeling nicely worked out without being exhausted.
Cons: there is a bit of a pony/happy feet overkill; the music is a bit bland.
