Did this routine for the first time today with a six inch step height instead of my usual eight inch.  It was a good, challenging workout; my fitness tracker showed my heart rate definitely got up there.  Gin cues very well, and although I made some mistakes with this being my first attempt, I'm confident I'll get better with practice.  She gives good coaching on how to increase or decrease the intensity of the workout.  I've been looking for a step video that offers a full hour of cardio without being too complex with the choreography, and this fits the bill.  This will be a regular part of my rotation.  If she does another video like it, I'd definitely buy it.  Thank you Gin, may I have another?

On the plus side, this DVD is easy to follow and provides a good steady state workout. But it is way too repetitive. At one point, Gin even says something like, "Now you're wondering how much longer I'm going to keep doing this!" I was surprised when I checked the workout length; it clocks in at around an hour, but felt far longer.

I started my fitness regime over 20 years ago with Gin.  Step DVDs became more and more dancey over time so this one is a good old fashioned back to basics choreography.  It gets the heart rate up and gets you sweating but the moves are easy enough so that you can let you brain zone out and not have to think too hard. Only complaint is that it does get a little bit repetitive and boring but then anything else would defeat the purpose of this classic workout.  It was lovely to go back to where it all began for me.
