These two 20-minutes sets are led by instructor Tracey Mallet, whose style invigorating style is both inspiring and annoying. She begins her "Toning Cardio" segment with some energizing yoga and karate blocks. Flanked by two men in camouflage and four women in black spandex, she proceeds to mix jab crosses and hooks, side kicks, and snap kicks with jazz-dance-inspired moves for a demanding total-body workout. In the "Boot Camp" segment (an abridged version of her full-length Cardio Boot Camp DVD), she combines traditional push-ups and jacks with some dance moves, kickboxing, and enough jumps for this workout to qualify as high impact. Those who are uncoordinated or have any knee impairment will quickly get discouraged. Mallet winds things up using a Pilates-style cool-down, with torso and leg work involving scissors and roll-ups.
