I do love this workout,but then again,my "baby"just turned 12!I do agree that this would be too difficult for a new mom,especially if you had a C-section like I did.Even though it's been ages since I gave birth,the C-section really weakened my Abs and I find that I have a belly pooch no matter what I do.I have always hated Abs workouts and many of them are too hard for me or put a strain on my neck.I do enjoy this DVD and really feel the burn in my abs,but it is not my favorite Tracy DVD-I prefer her Mat DVD,Precision Toning,Perfect Design 1 and her new Method Express.

This is hard! It's primarily ab work but she hits most areas of the body. I found some of it kind of risky for the lower back (for those who have issues) and can't imagine a new mom doing this without heavily modifying. Unfortunately, she doesn't cue a lot so someone new to exercise or just returning to fitness wouldn't be shown good alternatives. There are a lot of reps and I definitely felt the burn. I can see how this would be effective with regular use.

I don't have kids, so I can't speak to the efficacy of this workout postpartum. However, I do like it as an ab workout. I've always liked Tracy's ab work, so a DVD mostly dedicated to it is right up my alley. Tracy moves through her typical crunch-style ab exercises, on to a plank section, and then some all 4s floor work and then some arms and legs. My biggest complaint with Tracy's usual ab work is that she barely cues it (not even to switch sides), so I'm always craning my neck to see what she's doing and end up with a sore neck. This DVD is a little easier to follow as she cues more.

The music is classical, which I find to be relaxing. Overall I enjoy this one and find it challenging.

3 of 5 Really Hard Workout for Postpartum Moms July 2, 2014

I bought this workout after having my 2nd child thinking I could get my abs back. This was my first time trying TA's version of an ab workout and it is tough! I could not finish the workout and I did not feel that it is safe for all moms to do postpartum. I wish this workout would have a beginner segment or at least would have been broken down to shorter workout segments. It is just too much for someone new to Tracy Anderson and definitely not safe for moms that have lower back issues or have had complications from pregnancy.
