Welcome to the Zone 2 Cardio Series. These 5, fun cardio based sessions are designed to get your heart rate into the fat burning zone without spiking Cortisol. This will give you a calorie torching session without dread factor. Modifications and equipment substitution recommendations are given in each workout. Get ready to sweat and burn!
The 5 Workouts are:
Ball (34 mins) – use a stability ball for this flowing, easy to follow routine. You will see lots of standing exercises, using the ball to engage the arms, as well as rolling and bouncing exercises. For some of the moves you will use the ball to create instability for greater core engagement.
Band (31 mins) – use a resistance band to sweep, pull and box your way through a fun aerobics session, then loop the band around your foot for some light sculpting moves that will continue to keep up the cardio factor. You will finish with some floor exercises and a stretch.
Just Move (34 mins) – no equipment needed for this old school aerobics session, mixed with light cardio sculpt exercises to activate your entire body. The exercises are easy to follow and even if you miss a move or two – just keep moving and have fun!
Up and Down (31 mins) – use a step to take your cardio moves up a notch. You will see simple up and down combinations that will spike your heart rate a little more and then bring it down again. There are lots of aerobic exercises as well as some lunges and squats to work your legs. Finish with a lengthening stretch.
Sculpt (31 mins) - lighter sculpting exercises can also keep you in that zone 2 cardio heart rate. Use medium weights combined with compound moves to work every muscle in your body. You will see lots of squat and lunge combinations with arm raises, rows and curls. All the exercises are standing for this one. End with a stretch.

What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time. These workouts will hit all those trouble spots and best of all you don't even need to wear shoes to do them! Get ready to sweat, puff and burn - hopefully you'll love every minute of it!
